I Want To Know You

1 Corinthians 2:10-16

10But it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit. For his Spirit searches out everything and shows us God’s deep secrets. 11No one can know a person’s thoughts except that person’s own spirit, and no one can know God’s thoughts except God’s own Spirit. 12And we have received God’s Spirit (not the world’s spirit), so we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us.13When we tell you these things, we do not use words that come from human wisdom. Instead, we speak words given to us by the Spirit, using the Spirit’s words to explain spiritual truths. 14But people who aren’t spiritual can’t receive these truths from God’s Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them and they can’t understand it, for only those who are spiritual can understand what the Spirit means. 15Those who are spiritual can evaluate all things, but they themselves cannot be evaluated by others. 16For,

“Who can know the lord’s thoughts?
Who knows enough to teach him?”

But we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ.

You ever have a verse just leap out at you, this one did.  I’m so thankful for the Apostle Paul.  He wrote a huge part of the New Testament and he received it by revelation.  He didn’t hear it from Jesus himself but by the Spirit of God.  No different than today.

I am constantly amazed that the God of Universe gives us access to Himself.  David says it best. 4what are mere mortals that you should think about them,

human beings that you should care for them? (Psalms 8:4)

Paul says that our spirit’s know what we’re thinking about, what’s on our hearts and minds.  The same with God, His Spirit knows what He’s thinking about, burdened with, delighted with.

I want to know God’s deep secrets, I want to understand spiritual truths.  I want to know what makes God’s heart beat fast.  Vs. 12 says we have received God’s spirit, so we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us.

God has given us free access to Himself, to understand His character, His heart, our future, our direction for the day.  Search it out, ask the Holy Spirit to reveal it to you.  Be specific in your ask.  God what are You thinking about this person, or this opportunity, or help me see what I can’t see.  He will show it to you.  We have the mind of Christ, we can think like Him, talk like Him, love like Him, hear like Him.  His Spirit in us, so search out the deep things today.

God I want to know You, just like You know me today.
